Day of Unrest

Very long day. I finished moving into my new office today. After 8 years in the same office I had some serious piles of crap. I did resist the urge to put everything into the trash and start over.

Sitting at my new desk I have an incredible view. The window to my right gives me a view of the Minneapolis Skyline and the view to the left gives my the St. Paul Skyline. I will take pictures soon.

Installing new equipment at the office and I was once again burned by a cheap Belkin KVM switch. You would think I would learn that low price = low quality. But who wants to spend top dollar on a damn KVM switch.

“Dick Cheney in the 7th Circle of Hell” or “Books I Have read in the Last Month”

Richard Clarke - Against All Enemies : I just finished reading Richard Clarke's book and really enjoyed it . I basically knew him from the cyber security warnings that CERT released in the late 90's and early 00's, but he was really all over the place in his long stint at the White House.

My favorite parts were any incident that included Dick Cheney. Clark constantly takes shots at him and is dead on.

Matthew Pearl : The Dante Club : Murder mystery set in 1865 Boston. Every year on my April vacation I read a mystery novel. This is probably one of the more intelligent mystery books I have read.

Donna Tartt : The Little Friend : I really tried with this book but I couldn't get past 75 pages. I enjoyed her first book, but this wasn't doing it for me. I will put it back on the stack and try again next year. Maybe I will reread The Secret History instead.

DVD’s That I’ve Slept Through

I have really tried to watch movies and I even drink tons of coke while I watch. Nothing works. I have turned into my Dad.

From Hell : slept through the second half. I'm sure I didn't miss anything.
Ringu : fell asleep 4 times. I finally made it all the way through after a day and a half of trying. This is a highly average film.
Matrix Revolutions : This was really good sleep. I think I saw 20 minutes. I don't think I will even try again.
Lost in Translation : Missed the last 10 minutes. Rewatched the last half hour and really liked this.
Eternal Sunshine.. : brief moments of sleep in a Phoenix movie theater. I did like this one

Will I ever see a whole movie again? Is there any help for me?

Kick Em’ When They’re Down

The Wolves are on to round two and they have a fine ally, The Kings. What a great home town paper this is. There is nothing like ripping your top player just when the season gets tough.

I know Webber has had a crazy season with injuries and scandals but is now the time to lay into him? All I can say is thanks to the staff at the Bee.
